Channeled Lessons in Psychic Development 1: Gratitude

Aside from those of us who were lucky enough to be born exceptionally gifted, for most of us, developing psychic sensitivity and mediumship requires a lot of dedication, focus, humility and hard work. As my guides have explained to me, everyone has the capacity to open themselves to channeling and spirit. Only few are called to do so. Luckily for us, if we are sincere in our pursuit of higher knowing, there are many resources and teachers who can help us on our path. Psychic development is a discipline, and should be respected as such. We must attune our minds, bodies and spirits to the highest vibrations available to us, learning to set aside our day-to-day worries and ego-based fears to become as clear a channel as we can. Many of these challenges can be crystallized into these simple guidelines: love harder, fear less, don’t take on anyone else’s karma, seek happiness, commit yourself to truth, be responsible for your actions as well as your thoughts, and always remember to give gratitude where it is due. These themes have been explored in many of the lessons that have trickled down to me from my spirit guides over the last few months. This will be the first of a series of posts passing on these lessons to you. My fondest wish is that they will bring you the same sense of wonder and enlightenment they have brought me, but even more than that, that you will find them helpful on a very practical, tangible level. May they enrich your life and your practice!

Lesson number 1 is on raising your energy through gratitude, as communicated to me by my guide, Natalie:

“The highest emotional vibration available to you is that of gratitude, trust, love and excitement. Whenever your energy is low, try to access those feelings by thinking about things that bring you happiness and pleasure. This brings you closer in vibration to the spirit world and helps us forge the connection. Laughter also dispels fear.“

Before I sit down to do a reading or channeling session, I often prepare myself by listening to happy music, revisiting happy memories, and day-dreaming about my hopes and dreams. I feel the excitement, love and gratitude for all of it as strongly as I can. I’ll also set an intention with my guides for the questions I plan to explore. This helps me reach up with my energy to the spirit world, as the energy of spirit reaches down to meet mine.

More on trust later. Much more.

What puts you in a happy mindset? How do you prepare to meditate?
